    PROVIDENCE, R.I. -

The Providence College field hockey program is embarking on its non-traditional spring season. The team is working hard and getting ready for another exciting season in 2013. During the spring, the program will feature a "Meet The Friars" section right here on Friars.com. In this second installment of "Meet The Friars", let's take a look at sophomore Henni Tietze!

Tietze, a 2012 All-BIG EAST First-Team honoree and NFHCA All-Northeast Region Second-Team selection, anchored the Friar defense at center back. She also played a pivotal role on the Friars' offensive corner unit. Tietze finished second on the team in scoring this season with a career-high 26 points on 11 goals and four assists. Her 11 goals led the team. Prior to the start of the season, Tietze was selected to the All-BIG EAST Preseason Team. As a rookie in 2011, she was a member of the All-BIG EAST Second Team.

    1. Why did you choose to come to Providence College?

I chose to come to PC because I really liked the campus, our coaches and the athletic facilities.

    2. Who are your role models and why?

My parents are my role models. They have taught my siblings and me a lot of really important things to be successful in everything we do, and have provided us with many opportunities in life.

    3. What are three things you have never done, but want to do and why?

Win the BIG EAST Championship! It's our team’s goal for this upcoming season!!

Go paragliding in the alps! I have been in the alps a couple of times before to go skiing, snowboarding, and hiking and I would like to see the mountains from a different point of view.

Learn to waterski or wakeboard! I like learning or trying out new sports and these seem to be fun.

    4. What is your favorite YouTube video and why?
