Lady Friar Field Hockey Team Wins Third Straight - Defeats Miami (OH), 2-0
Providence, RI -- The Lady Friars defeated Miami (OH), 2-0 this
afternoon in the University of Connecticut Invitaitonal. The Friars improve to
3-0 overall - the best start of the season since the 1989 campaign.
Senior Heather Koopman (Greene, NY) tallied the first goal of the game for the
eventual gamewinner. Sophomore Erica Hebert (Enfield, CT) tallied her fourth
goal of the season as she recorded the second goal to give PC the edge. Senior
Paula Wagoner (Toledo, OH) assisted on both goals.
Sophomore goalie Andrea Weyl (Ridgefield, CT) made seven stops between the
posts.
The Friars prepare this week to host 1996 BIG EAST Champions, Connecticut on
Saturday, September 13.
