Providence Defeats Yale, 5-1
NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The 10th ranked Friars defeated Yale
University in New Haven, CT, 5-1 this afternoon. For the
Friars it was their 10th win of the season improving their
overall record to 10-2.
The Friars earned goals from five different players including
senior Paula Wagoner (Toledo, OH), freshman Amy DePietro
(Southbury, CT), junior Mirandi Balg (Sound Beach, NY), senior
Heather Koopman (Greene, NY) and junior Jamie Shipman (Spencer,
MA).
Wagoner, the Friar captain, recorded the first goal of the game
and also added three assists for a game high five points.
Providence improves to 10-2 overall and sit atop the BIG EAST
with a 3-1 record.
