Providence Field Hockey Falls to UMASS, 2-0
AMHERST, Mass. -- The #8 Providence College Friars fell to University of Massachusetts this afternoon, 2-0 in Amherst, MA.
For only the second time this season, the Friars were shutout as they lost their second consecutive game and fall to 11-4 overall. The Minutemen scored in one in the first half off a penalty corner and scored again with 24:53 remaining in the game.
UMass outshot the Friars, 12-7. Senior goalie Jaime Soteriades (Columbus, OH) made seven saves between the posts.
Providence falls to 11-4 overall. The Friars travel to #3 Maryland on Saturday.
