Providence Field Hockey Defeats Boston College, 3-2

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The 10th ranked Friars defeated Boston
College this afternoon, 3-2 at Hendricken Field. Sophomore
Erica Hebert (Enfield, CT) scored the game's winning goal with
3:40 remaining in the game.
Boston College got on the board first with a goal by Andrea
Durko with 16:41 remaining in the first half. PC's sophomore
Jen D'Amore (Rome, NY) scored her first career goal as she tied
the game on a tipped shot from junior Mirandi Balg (Sound
Beach, NY). The Eagles took a 2-1 advantage as Gabrielle Bieg
scored just before the half.
Junior Katie Lachapelle (Lewiston, ME) scored early in the
second half to knot the game at 2-2. Hebert's gamewinner came
off a corner shot which was assisted by seniors Paula Wagoner
(Toledo, OH) and Mollie Costello (Los Gatos, CA).
Providence improves to 9-1 overall and 3-0 in the BIG EAST
while Boston College falls to 5-4 and 1-1 in the conference.
