Field Hockey Defeated By Boston University, 3-1
Oct. 14, 2000 PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Boston University defeated Providence College, 3-1, in field hockey action at Providence, R.I., on Saturday, October 14. Senior Kelly Clothier (Philadelphia, Pa.) tallied the first goal of the game with 29:50 remaining in the first half to give the Terriers a 1-0 lead. Junior Casey Holman (Bridgeton, N.J.) added to the Terrier lead when she knocked in a rebound past Friar senior goalkeeper Heather Tattersall at the 15:43 mark. Freshman Whitney Peabody (Hamilton, Mass.) scored the Terriers' third consecutive goal of the first half to give BU a 3-0 lead at the 10:40 mark. Friar senior Breanne Wojnarowicz (Holden, Mass.) netted the Friars' only goal off a penalty corner at 23:47 of the second half. BU junior goalkeeper Susan Harrington (Tuftonboro, N.H.) made two saves in the win. Tattersall registered five stops in the contest. With the win, Boston University improved to 9-6 overall, while Providence fell to 4-12 overall. Providence College returns to action on Tuesday, October 17 at Durham, N.H. against the University of New Hampshire at 3:30 p.m.
