Field Hockey Falls To 5th-Ranked Syracuse

    SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Providence College field hockey team fell to 5th ranked Syracuse in BIG EAST Conference action, 8-0, on September 30 in Syracuse, N.Y.

    The Friars trailed just 2-0 at halftime, but the Orange exploded for six goals in the second half to take the win.

    Leonie Geyer led the Syracuse offense with two goals and one assist. Six other players scored one goal each in the balanced effort.

    The Friars were outshot, 31-0, and outcornered, 12-0.

    The Friars return to action on Monday, October 3 against No. 8 Boston College. The game will be played in Chestnut Hill, Mass. and is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
