No. 19 Providence College Field Hockey Falls To Albany, 2-1

Providence, R.I. - The No. 19 Providence College field hockey team lost to Albany, 2-1, on Sunday, September 27 at Alumni Field in Albany, N.Y. The Friars fall to 3-6 on the season. In the first half, Albany scored two quick goals and jump out to an early 2-0 lead. Nicole Savage scored both goals for the Great Danes. The first goal came at the 12:37 mark and the second came at 18:26. Both of Savage's goals were unassisted. To start the second half, the Friars were able to cut Albany's lead to 2-1. The Friar's goal was scored by junior Ashlyn Hudson (Stoughton, Mass.). The goal came at the 37:55 mark. This proved to be the only goal of the match for the Friars. Goalkeeper Rachel Chamberlain (Branford, Conn.) recorded eight saves on the day. Albany held the advantage in shots, 16-7 and in penalty corners, 6-4 Providence returns home to face BIG EAST Conference opponent Villanova on Saturday, October 3. The game will be played at the Friar Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex in Providence, R.I. and will begin at 1:00 p.m.
