Field Hockey Defeats Holy Cross, 1-0 in Overtime

Worcester, Mass.-- The Providence College Field Hockey team picked up their first win of the season with a 1-0 overtime victory at the College of Holy Cross on Tuesday, September 19.

Senior Breanne Wojnarowicz (Holden, Mass.) scored the game-winning shot just two minutes and 22 seconds into the first overtime period, with the assist from fellow senior Jamie Lerch (Medway, Mass.).

Senior Heather Tattersall (Bethlehem, N.H.) made two saves for the Friars. Jennifer Crosilli recorded nine saves between the pipes for the Crusaders. The Friars outshot the Crusaders, 14-5.

Providence returns to action on Friday, September 22, when they take on Saint Louis University. Game time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Northwestern University.
