Final Stats

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Providence College field hockey team was defeated, 1-0, at Holy Cross on September 10 in Worcester, Mass. It marks the first time this season that the Friars have been held scoreless, and also marks the first win for Holy Cross over Providence since 2004.

The Friars outshot the Crusaders, 13-3, and held a 10-0 edge in penalty corners. Seven of the Friars' 13 shots were on goal, but Holy Cross goalkeeper Erin Singleton recorded a stop on each attempt to finish the contest with seven saves.

Kristin Schulz scored the game-winning goal in the 21st minute of play as she received a long pass from Alanna Sikorski and chipped it into the left side of the goal.

Junior goalkeeper Rachel Chamberlain (Branford, Conn.) recorded two saves for Providence in the loss.

Providence returns to action against Harvard on Friday, September 12 at the Friar Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex in Providence, R.I.
