PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College field hockey team dropped a heart-breaker in overtime to Northeastern, 2-1, on Sept. 8. The match was played at Lennon Family Field in Providence, R.I. June Lindahl-Curry notched the game-winning goal just 4:54 into the extra session.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
- Northeastern held a 4-1 advantage in shots during the first half and managed to carry a one-goal lead into halftime.
- The Huskies scored at 25:47 as Kellie Stigas connected on a penalty corner opportunity, assisted by Megan Barrett and June Curry-Lindahl.
- The Friars were the aggressors in the second half, out-shooting the Huskies, 5-0.
- Providence tied the game at 45:48 as Olivia Ward tipped in a feed from Manon van Weezel. It marked Ward's career goal with the Friars, while van Weezel picked up her fourth assist in the last three games.
- The two teams went to overtime for the second-consecutive season as regulation ended in a 1-1 tie.
- The Friars quickly earned a penalty corner in the overtime session, but were unable to convert. - June Curry-Lindahl tallied the game-winner 4:54 into overtime as she collected a rebound off an initial shot and fired the ball high into the cage.
- Overall, Providence held a 7-6 advantage in shots and an 8-3 edge in penalty corners. Six of the Friars' penalty-corner opportunities came in the second half and OT.
