    PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College field hockey team fell to No. 9 Boston College, 5-0, at the Friar Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex in Providence, R.I. on August 31.

    Boston College took an early lead 7:40 into the game when Chapin Duke scored an unassisted goal. Jacqui Moorfield tacked on another goal for the Eagles later in the half to give Boston College a 2-0 advantage headed into halftime.

    The Eagles added three more goals in the second half from Friderike Hauschildt, Janna Anctil and Lottie van den Bergh to give them a 5-0 lead.

    Boston College held the advantage in shots, 25-2, and in penalty corners, 16-1. Sophomore goalkeeper Kathi Weidman (Millersville, Pa.) recorded 12 saves on the night for the Friars in her first start of the season.

    Providence will take on Boston University on Friday, September 3 at 7:00 p.m. at the Friar Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex in Providence, R.I. The team will then travel to the Durham, N.H. to face the University of New Hampshire on Sunday, September 5 at 1:00 p.m.
