PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College Head Field Hockey Coach Diane Madl, who also is the owner and director of Circle To Circle Field Hockey Camps, LLC., has released 2009 summer camp dates. "Team Camp" will be held July 19-21. "Open Camp" will be held July 26-29. Each camp will be held on the campus of Providence College in Providence, R.I.

These camps are designed for the field hockey players ranging from beginner to elite. The "Open Camps" are are open to players from age 10 to incoming college freshmen, while the "Team Camps" are open to high school and junior high teams (minimum of 12 players required). Camp will be run by the Providence College Field Hockey Staff in conjunction with Circle To Circle, LLC staff, talented coaches and collegiate players, including several NFHCA All-Americans.

There will be a 1:10 coach to player ratio, and the campers will be instructed in a fun, exciting learning environment by top-level coaches who will teach the skills and tactics necessary to bring their game to the next level. Instruction and game play will take place at the Friar Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex, which is an Astroturf surface.

"Team Camp" is designed to aid in total team development. Each team is guaranteed five games, in addition to supplemental sessions aimed at enhancing overall team development. A minimum of 12 players are required to register a team, but it is recommended that each team make an effort to register a team of 15.

"Open Camp" provides instruction in all areas of the game, including skills, tactics, special situations and game play. Campers are divided into skill groups based on age, experience and skill level. Campers are put into teams for game play based on a focus of balance and competitiveness while providing an opportunity for campers to play with fellow teammates.

Both camps are open to overnight campers and commuters. For overnight campers, housing and all meals are included in the registration fee. Lunch and dinner are provided to campers who register as commuters, and a designated space is provided to the campers during breaks between sessions each day.

"Team Camp" registration costs $380 for an overnight camper and $275 for a commuter. "Open Camp" registration costs $425 for an overnight camper and $330 for a commuter. A nonrefundable deposit of $100, or payment in full, is due with the registration application by June 15, 2009 for team camp and July 1, 2009 for "open" camp.
