    Field Hockey Alumni Update - 5th Edition Featuring Kerianne Murphy '10

    Rising senior Daniella Bernasconi checked in Kerianne Murphy about her experience as a Friars.

    As a Junior: Started all 21 games... Posted a single-season career-high of 21 points on five goals and 11 assists... Led the Friars in assists...Finished year tied for fourth in the BIG EAST Conference in assists (11) and tied for fifth in the league in assists per game (0.52)...Finished second among her teammates in scoring during BIG EAST regular-season play with eight points on two goals and four assists...Registered four assists in regular-season league play, which was tied for fourth best in the BIG EAST...Notched one game-winning goal on the year in a 2-0 victory against Rutgers on October 11...Recorded one defensive save in a, 3-2, overtime victory against Massachusetts on November 1... Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll twice during the season (10/6, 10/13)...Enters final season in 2009 tied for 21st on Providence's all-time assist list (13)...BIG EAST Academic All-Star and NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad selection.

    As a Sophomore: Started all 22 games...Recorded eight points on three goals and two assists...Notched one game-winning goal on the year as the Friars defeated #18 Syracuse, 3-2 (10/12)...Posted a season-high four points against Brown (10/30) with two goals...BIG EAST Academic All-Star.

    As a Freshman: Played 18 games and appeared in the starting line-up 10 times...Tallied two points on one goal in her first season...Scored first collegiate goal in a 5-4 victory over Vermont on August 28...BIG EAST Academic All-Star.

    In High School: Earned a total of 12 varsity letters in field hockey, basketball and softball at the Bancroft School...Was a three-year captain of the field hockey team and two-year captain of the softball team...Named Eastern Independent League Player of the Year (2003, 2005)...Four-time Eastern Independent League First-Team All-Star selection (2002-2005)...Earned Honorable Mention All-Star honors (2001)...Boston Globe All-Scholastic honoree (2003, 2005)...Helped guide the Bancroft School to the E.I.L. title in 2003 and 2005...Also led her team to three semifinal appearances in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council Championship (2003-05)...Named to the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council All-Tournament Team (2003, 2004 and 2005)...A Futures participant in 2004 and 2005...Earned Elinor W.
