Mi-Khida Hankins Named To BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Junior forward Mi-Khida Hankins (Baltimore, Md.) was named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the first time in her career on November 23. She averaged a team-leading 17.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists for the Providence College women's basketball team, through the first three games of the 2009-10 season (3-0).

Hankins opened the season with 17 points, four assists and three rebounds against Brown on November 13. She followed with back-to-back double-doubles against Saint Joseph's (11/15) and Hartford (11/20). Against Saint Joseph's, Hankins notched a season-high 21 points and added 10 rebounds and a career-high six assists. In the victory over Hartford, she tallied 15 points and matched a career high with 11 boards. She also collected two steals and one blocked shot.

Connecticut's Tina Charles earned BIG EAST Player of the Week honors, while Skylar Diggins (Notre Dame) was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. Joining Hankins on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll was, Ashley Barlow (Notre Dame), Nicole Michael (Syracuse), Deirdre Naughton (DePaul) and Da'Shena Stevens (St. John's).

Providence returns to action on Tuesday, November 24 against non-conference opponent Quinnipiac. The game will be played at Alumni Hall/Mullaney Gymnasium in Providence, R.I. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 p.m.
