Sarah Beal Named To BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College women's basketball player Sarah Beal (Matthews, N.C.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, Nov. 21. It marks the second-straight week that Beal has been named to the league's weekly honor roll, and the seventh time in her career.

Beal averaged 15.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.50 steals in the Friars’ two victories last week over North Dakota State (86-63) and Binghamton (71-58). She shot an impressive 52.2-percent from the field (12-23) and 85.7-percent from the free-throw line (6-7). In the Friars’ come-from-behind victory over Binghamton, Beal notched 17 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals. She came up big for the Friars in the decisive second half, as she tallied 10 of her 17 points and added three assist and two steals.

Providence returns to action on Tuesday, Nov. 22 against Hartford. The game will be played at Chase Arena at Reich Family Pavilion in West Hartford, Conn. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 p.m. The game marks the first of eight-consecutive road games for the Friars. The team will return home to Alumni Hall for its BIG EAST Conference opener on Wednesday, Nov. 28 against Xavier.
