Providence College junior forward Alexis Harris (Detroit, Mich.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, November 18. It marks the first time in Harris' career that she has earned weekly recognition from the league.
Through three games to start the season, Harris is averaging a double-double, with 18.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. She notched a career-high 31 points in the Friars' season opener vs. UMass Lowell and added 10 boards for her first career double-double. She also dished a career-best four assists. She followed with 10 points and nine rebounds vs. Bryant on November 12, to go along with two assists and two steals. In the Friars' most recent game against Drexel (11/15), Harris posted the second double-double of her career on 14 points and 11 boards. Her 10 defensive rebounds in the game mark a career high.
She is leading the league in field-goal percentage at 81.5-percent, having converted 22-of-27 attempts from the floor. She also ranks fourth in the BIG EAST in rebounding (10.0 rpg) and sixth in scoring (18.3 ppg).
Providence returns to action on Monday, November 18 against Dartmouth. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:00 p.m. in Hanover, N.H.
