PROVIDENCE, R.I. -
Providence College women's basketball Head Coach Susan Robinson Fruchtl announced today (September 17) that senior Danielle Pearson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and junior Tori Rule (Minneapolis, Minn.) have been selected as team captains for the 2013-14 season.
"It's great to be in a position this year to name captains this early in the preseason," Robinson Fruchtl said. "Tori and DeeDee [Danielle] have shown tremendous growth, not only as basketball players, but more importantly as people. They are maturing in front of our eyes and it's really nice to watch. They both did a great job in the post-season last spring of laying the foundation for a solid work ethic, which I hope is a trademark of our program going forward. During the summer, they served as positive mentors for our newcomers and I appreciate that. Ultimately, we want our upperclassmen to pass on the traditions and really act as if they were assistant coaches in some respects. I look forward to working with Tori and DeeDee this year, as we continue to build this program up into one that will make us all proud!"
