Women's Basketball Set For Tour To France And Italy

Aug. 10, 2015

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College women’s basketball program will take part in a summer tour of France and Italy Aug. 11-21. It will mark the first foreign tour for the women’s program since 2002, when the team traveled to Norway, Denmark and Sweden.

The Friars will play three games while abroad versus the AMW All-Stars (Aug. 14), Cameroon (Aug. 16) and Pescara Phoenix Aurora (Aug. 19).

“This is going to be a phenomenal experience for our program,” Head Coach Susan Robinson Fruchtl said. “Our team is quite young heading into the 2015-16 season, so I see this as an opportunity for growth and building relationships. I also expect this to be a tremendous experience to explore two amazing countries full of history and culture and create life-long memories.”

Fans can follow the Friars as they tour Europe via the program’s social media platforms. The team will share photos, video clips, game coverage and player interviews/sound bites.
