LOS ANGELES, CALIF. - Providence College sophomore guard Michal Epstein (Rehovot, Israel) has been selected to the 2003 Jewish Sports Review Women's Basketball All-America First Team. Confirmation of her selection was received on Tuesday, May 6. Epstein has been selected to the First Team in each of her two seasons with the Friar women's basketball team.

Epstein finished the season ranked first among her teammates in scoring and assists, averaging 14.3 points and 2.6 assists per game, respectively. Epstein missed three of the Friars' last five games during the regular season with an injury. Prior to sustaining the injury, she reached double figures in scoring in 20 of the 24 games she played. She scored 20 or more points in five games. Epstein scored a career-best 25 points on two occasions for the Friars in road victories over Rhode Island (12/22/02) and Pittsburgh (1/11/03). Epstein is the daughter of Elaine and Roger Epstein, and is a native of Rehovot, Israel.

Providence College finished the 2002-03 season with a 9-18 overall record and a 3-13 mark in the BIG EAST Conference.
