Providence Falls to Rutgers, 70-66

PROVIDENCE, RI -- The Providence College women's basketball team fell to Rutgers University this afternoon in Alumni Hall, 70-66.
Down by as many as 26 points in the first half, the Friars staged a giant comeback but were unable to pull off the upset this afternoon. With 11:45 remaining in the second half and PC down, 62-39, the Friars went on a 27-8 run to close out the game. Senior Julie Wheeler (Morgantown, WV), who enjoyed her first game back after sitting out six games with a stress fracture, hit three treys and converted a layup to get PC back at 68-66.
