Lady Friars Fall in Exhibition Game

PROVIDENCE, RI -- The Providence College women's basketball team lost to Uralmash in an Exhibition game this evening, 93-80.

The Uralmash Russian Team took a 56-36 lead at the break after taking a commanding 19-3 lead in the first four minutes of the game. Uralmash shot 68% from the floor for the first 20 minutes while making 22 of 32 shots.

The Friars were led by senior captain Julie Wheeler (Morgantown, WV) who sank eight three-pointers and recorded 26 points in 28 minutes. The guard was 8 of 14 from three-point territory. Freshman Monika Roberts tallied 13 points and senior Kerri Chatten chipped in 11 points.

Uralmash made 31 turnovers to PC's 15, although outrebounded PC, 58-38. Uralmash was led by Elena Pshikova who recorded 26 points.

PC opens the regular schedule at the Providence Civic Center next Tuesday, November 18 vs. URI at 6:00.
