New Orleans, La. - Sophomore guard Chrissy Vozab scored a game high 22 points and junior teammate Monika Roberts posted a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Providence College Friars to an 82-62 win over the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks at the Tulane/Doubletree Classic Tuesday night.

Vozab was 7-for-10 from the floor, including 5-for-6 from behind the three-point line on her way to a season best 22-point night. She added three free throws while grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out four assists.

Roberts, who was selected to the All-Tournament Team, was 10-for-15 from the field and 1-1 from the line for her 21 points. In the two game tournament, Roberts scored 47 points and pulled down 18 rebounds while blocking eight shots.

The Friars shot 51.3% in the first half to open a 46-37 lead as Jen Gombotz scored 11 of her 12 points, Roberts chipped in ten and Amy Drechsler came off the bench scoring nine of her 11 points on the night.

Vozab helped put the game away in the second half by hitting four-of-five threes while PC's stingy defense was holding Lehigh to just 25 points as the Mountain Hawks shot just 25.6% in the half and 33.8% (26-for-77) in the game.

Forward Ann Tierney led Lehigh with 22 points while grabbing 19 rebounds. Alexis Bevington came off the bench to score 12 points as the only other Lehigh player in double figures.

Senior guard Meghan Hinds joined Roberts in double figures in rebounds as she pulled down a career best 11 boards in the win.

The win was the Friars' third in the last four games and improves PC to 4-4 on the season. Lehigh falls to 5-7 with the loss.

Providence returns to action on Friday, December 31st when the Friars travel to Fairfield for a 2:00 p.m. game with the Stags to close out the 1999 portion of the schedule.
