Women's Hoop Takes Third Place at Moran Realty Classic

CHICAGO, IL - Providence is 1-3 overall after splitting games at the DePaul Classic last weekend and finishing third. The Friars fell to host DePaul, 89-36 as they struggled offensively shooting only 19% for the game. Junior Farrah Thomas and sophomore Monika Roberts tallied eight points each for the Friars.

In the consolation game against New Mexico State, the Friars were down, 43-28 at the half, but went ahead on a Dana Simonelli three-pointer with just over eight minutes left in the second stanza. Freshman guard Chrissy Vozab tallied a team high 21 points while sophomore Monika Roberts was unstoppable in the paint scoring 18 in only 25 minutes of action. Providence rebounded with a 45% shooting touch from the floor while getting outrebounded 48-38.

For her efforts throughout the weekend, Chrissy Vozab was named to the All-Tournament team.

The Friars face the University of Rhode Island on Tuesday, December 1 in Kingston, RI. The next Friar home game is Saturday, December 5 vs Southwest Missouri State at 4:00 pm in Alumni Hall.
