PROVIDENCE, RI - The Providence women's basketball team recorded an exhibition victory over Lithuania, 83-78 in Alumni Hall this evening.

The Friars were led by junior co-captain Meghan Hinds and freshman Chrissy Vozab who each contributed 16 points. Hinds grabbed a team high eight boards while Vozab tallied a game best eight assists. Sophomore Jen Gombotz recorded 14 points and five steals for the Friars.

The Friars led 39-35 at the half, but found themselves trailing, 70-69 with 4:38 remaining on a three-pointer by Oskana Agabalova. Hinds answered with a three-pointer to give the Friars a 74-71 edge and Lithuania would'nt get any closer. Vozab clinched the victory hitting two free-throws in the final :07 seconds of the game.

The Friars open the season at #18 Arkansas on Monday, November 16.
