BOSTON, MASS. - The Providence College women's basketball team fell to Boston University, 65-62, on November 11 at Case Gym in Boston, Mass. Senior Teya Wright(Paterson, N.J.) recorded a career-high 21 points and added 11 rebounds for a double-double.

Providence got out to an early 11-5 lead heading into the first media timeout of the game. Senior Teya Wright (Paterson, N.J.) scored the Friars' first eight points, followed by eight straight points from fellow senior Rachel Barnes(Windsor, Conn.) to mount a 16-6 Friar lead.

Providence led by as many as 21 (37-16) with 4:09 to play before the Terriers went on a 11-4 run to close the half. Mo Moran keyed the run for BU with two three-point buckets. Wright finished the half with 12 points for Providence and Barnes added 11. Alex Young led Boston University with nine points.

Providence shot an impressive 56.3-percent from the field in the opening half (18-32), and also hit 42.9-percent of its three-point attempts (3-7). BU shot 33.3-percent from the field (9-27) and 36.4-percent from three-point territory (4-11).

The Friar offense cooled down in the second half, while the Terriers held on to the momentum they gained in the closing minutes of the first half. Boston University got within one point (50-51) with 7:48 remaining in the game and took its first lead (52-51) with 6:50 to play on a Alex Young turnaround from the left side of the key. BU went ahead 54-51 before Providence answered with back-to-back buckets, to regain the Friar lead (55-54).

Boston University came right back to take a three-point advantage (58-55) with 3:06 to play. The Friars tied the game, 58-58, with 2:42 on the clock, but BU closed out the game with a 7-4 scoring edge to take the come-from-behind win, 65-62.

Young led the Terriers with a game-high 24 points, including 15 in the decisive second half. Mo Moran added 17 points, while Chantell Alford chipped in 13 points.

The Friars return to action on Monday, November 14 against the University of Virginia. It marks the Friars' home opener at Alumni Hall/Mullaney Gymnasium in Providence, R.I. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:00 p.m.
