PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Olayinka Sanni scored 20 points, LaQuita Owens added 18 and No. 12 West Virginia won its eighth consecutive game, 63-60 over Providence on Saturday.

Chakika Cole and Sparkle Davis combined for five points in the last 32 seconds for the Mountaineers.

West Virginia (19-3, 8-1 Big East) led 58-57 when Davis missed a 3-point shot. Meg Bulger grabbed the rebound and passed to Cole, who made a layup, was fouled and sank the free throw.

Providence's Kendria Holmes was fouled on a 3-point shot and made all three free throws to pull the Friars (11-11, 1-8) to 61-60.

Davis then sank two free throws with 4.7 seconds left for the final score. Holmes' 3-point attempt at the buzzer hit the rim and fell away.

Holmes scored a career-high 28 points for the Friars, who lost their fifth straight.
