Chatten Voted Preseason First Team All-Big EAST In Basketball
Friars Picked Fourth In BIG EAST 7
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College senior Kerri Chatten (Hopkinton, MA) was voted preseason First Team All-BIG EAST by the coaches as it was released today at the BIG EAST Media Day in Newark, NJ.
Chatten, a 6-1 forward, is the BIG EAST returning leading rebounder after averaging a team best 8.2 boards as a junior. She also put up 15.8 points per game while starting every contest. A 1996 Third Team All-BIG EAST pick, Chatten hit 18 consecutive games in double figures and recorded nine double-doubles.
Providence was picked to finish fourth in the BIG EAST 7 Division behind Rutgers, Georgetown and Miami. Connecticut was picked to win the BIG EAST 6 Division. A breakdown of the Coaches' Poll follows along with the First Team selections.
