PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College cross country Head Coach Ray Treacy announced on December 1 that student athlete Ahmed Haji (West Hartford, Conn.) has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Providence College beginning in September 2004.

Haji is attending Conard High School in West Hartford, Conn. He captured the New England individual title on November 8 and placed eighth in the Foot Locker National Championship last season. His eighth place finish was the highest by a runner from the Northeast. In addition, he placed second in the Connecticut State Championship.
