The Providence College women’s cross country team and sophomore Shane Quinn (Waterford, Ireland) from the men’s cross country team competed at the NCAA Division I National Championships on Saturday, Nov. 17, at Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Ky.
Last year, the men’s cross country team qualified for nationals with their fourth place finish at regionals. Quinn travelled with the squad, but did not finish. This season, Quinn traveled as an individual competitor, and finished the 10K course with a time of 30:30.1. He was tied for 69th place with Washington senior Joey Bywater.
Texas Tech junior Kennedy Kithuka was the individual NCAA Champion. Kithuka shattered the course record with a time of 28:31.3. Oklahoma State took home the team championship with 72 points.
