PROVIDENCE, R.I. - It was announced today that the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships will be televised live by CSTV. It marks the first-ever live telecast for NCAA Cross Country Championships, which will be held in Terre Haute, Ind. on Monday, November 19. The live telecast will run from Noon to 1:30 p.m. (ET) and also will be webcast live on http://www.ustfccca.org. Check with your local cable provider for channel information. The Providence College men's and women's cross country teams each automatically qualified for the NCAA Cross Country Championships by virtue of their finishes at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship. The Friar women captured the Northeast Regional Team title, finishing first in a field of 36 teams. Junior Danette Doetzel (Macklin, Saskatchewan) won the individual title with a time of 20:28.00. The men's team qualified for the NCAA Championship with a second-place team finish at the Northeast Regional Championship. Senior Max Smith (Dunedin, New Zealand) won the individual title for the Friars in a time of 29:58.75. - FRIARS -
