PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College men's cross country team (275 points) climbed to No. 11 in the Mondo Division I Men's Cross Country National Poll, which was released Tuesday, November 16. Providence moved up five spots to No. 11 after winning the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on Saturday, November 13 at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y.

The Friars' victory on Saturday marked the team's fifth overall NCAA Northeast Regional title and their first since 2001. The Friars also qualified for the NCAA's for the 10th-consecutive season. Senior Patrick Moulton (Pelham, N.H.) paced the way as the Friars took the fourth, fifth and sixth positions. Moulton's time of 30:45 was good for fourth place, while classmate Dylan Wykes (Kingston, Ontario) recorded a fifth-place finish in a time of 30:48. Junior Martin Fagan (Mullingar, Ireland) ran to placed sixth in a time of 30:49. Graduate student Michael DeCoste of Duxbury, Mass. (12th - 31:15) and senior Patrick Guidera of Clonmel, Ireland (24th - 31:49) also scored for the Friars.

Providence will compete at the NCAA's on Monday, November 22 in Terre Haute, Ind.
