PROVIDENCE, R.I. -
The Providence College men's and women's cross country teams are ranked in the latest USTFCCCA Division I Cross Country polls, released on Tuesday, September 25. The Friar women's team earned a No. 11 ranking (258 points), while the men's team is currently ranked 14th (202 points) in the nation.
The Providence women's team is the highest ranked member of the BIG EAST Conference, and is followed by Georgetown (20th, 132 points) and Notre Dame (27th, 57 points). The Syracuse women's team is among the list of teams who received votes in the poll. The Friar men's squad is one of five BIG EAST teams who are nationally ranked. Notre Dame leads the way at No. 12 (219 points). Providence College is 14th (202 points), followed by Louisville (15th, 175 points), Georgetown (16th, 173 points) and Syracuse (26th, 63 points).
The Friar men's and women's cross country teams return to action on Friday, September 28 at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
