Men's Cross Country Ranked Among Top Five In The Nation
Sept. 6, 2001 The Providence College men's cross country team was ranked fourth in the MONDO NCAA Division I Men's Cross Country Poll on Wednesday, September 5. A year ago, the Friars qualified for their sixth-consecutive NCAA Championship, where they finished third overall. Providence received 334 points in the poll. Colorado received a first-place preseason ranking with 13 first-place votes and 397 points overall. Stanford earned three first-place votes and 379 points, while Arkansas was picked to finish third with 342 points. The Friars open their 2001 schedule on Friday, September 7 at the University of New Hampshire Invitational in Durham, N.H. The meet is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
