    TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Providence College men's cross country team finished 16th out of 31 teams at the 2013 NCAA Cross Country Championship on Saturday, Nov. 23. The 10k race was held at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center.

    Junior Shane Quinn (Waterford, Ireland) was the Friars' top finisher with a 42nd place finish, out of 254 competitors, posting a time of 30:47.8. Junior Benjamin Connor (Derby England) closely trailed, finishing 44th in a time of 30:51.4.

    The team's 16th-place finish (396 points) was their best finish since 2006 when the team finished ninth. Graduate student Julia Saad (Trumbull, Conn.) was the next Friar to finish, placing 70th in a time of 31:02.5.

    Also finishing for Providence was sophomore Harvey Dixon (Aldershot, England), who ran to a time of 31:55.0 for 164th place. Junior Brian Doyle (Swansea, Mass.) ran to a 173rd-place finish (32:01.1).

    Sophomore Julian Oakley (Tauranga, New Zealand) finished 222nd in 32:34.5. Junior Liam Hillery (Smithfield, R.I.) rounded out the Providence competitors with a time of 33:13.9 (238th place).
