BRONX, N.Y. - The Providence College men's cross country team placed 15th-overall at the Iona Meet of Champions at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y, the site of the 2008 BIG EAST Championship. The team was led by freshman Matt Terry (Danbury, Conn.), who placed 67th (26:04) over the grueling 8000 meter course, in a race of nearly 300 competitors. The other scorers for the Friars Squad included sophomore Stephen Hankinson, 81st (26:24.7), sophomore Nicholas Barao, 119th (26:50.4), senior Ben Saviet, 129th (27:00.1), and freshman Zachary Hoagland, 221st (28:27.6). The next race for the Friars is Friday October 3, 2008 when they compete at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
