Kevin Myles is entering his fourth season at Providence College where he serves as the Men's Track Head Coach and the assistant coach of the cross country and women's track teams.
In the 2010-11 season with the Friars, Myles helped guide both the men's and women's cross country programs to berths in the NCAA Championship. Lee Carey '13 captured an individual BIG EAST title at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championship. During the indoor season, Myles contributed to the coaching of four All-Americans. David McCarthy '12 earned First Team All-America status in the men's 3000-meters, Julian Matthews '12 gained Second-Team honors in the men's 1500-meters, and Shelby Greany `14 and Hannah Davidson `12 achieved Second-Team accolades in the women's 3000 meters. Matthews later matched his Second-Team accomplishment at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship, again in the 1500.
During the 2011-12 season, Myles assisted coaching the men to another NCAA Cross Country Championship. Throughout indoors, McCarthy broke the New England Collegiate and Providence College records in the mile and was also a member of the distance medley relay team, along with Shane Quinn '15, Nik Andrews '14 and Matthews, that won the 2012 BIG EAST Indoor Track & Field Championship. Emily Sisson `14 gained second team All-America honors after finishing 12th at the 2012 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in the 3,000 meters. All-America honor in outdoor track after finishing fourth at the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.
In his 2012-13 season at Providence, Myles helped the women's team win the Northeast Regional title and place second at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, its highest finish since 1995 when they won the title. During the indoor season, Myles contributed to coaching three BIG EAST title winners and a Second-Team All-American, Emily Sisson `14. Matthews won the 1,000 meters at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships, Shane Quinn '15 won the 5,000 meters and Sisson won the 3,000 meter title. Sisson also went on to earn another All-America honor in the 5,000 meters during the outdoor season. Along with Sisson, teammates Greany and Laura Nagel `14 earned Second-Team All-America honors in the 3,000 meter steeple chase and the 5,000 meters, respectively, at the 2013 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Before Providence, Myles served as an Assistant Coach for Brown University's Cross Country / Track and Field programs from 2007-2010. At Brown, he oversaw the training for the men's distance and mid-distance runners.
Myles is a 2001 graduate of LaSalle University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. As a five-year member of cross country/track & field team, Myles was a nine-time All-Conference member, a five-time All-District team member, and a 1998 NCAA individual qualifier in cross country. Myles was a member of LaSalle's 1999 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championship team, and was also selected as a 1999 Academic All-American. In 2001, he was selected as the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Student-Athlete of the Year.
