PROVIDENCE, R.I. - It was announced today that junior Stephen Hankinson (Summit, N.J.) has been named the BIG EAST Track Athlete of the Week. Hankinson won both events he competed in this weekend. On Friday, December 4 at the Fordham Invitational, Hankinson earned first place in the mile in a time of 4:24 before winning the 3,000m race in a personal best time of 8:29.52 at the Brown University Alden Invitational on Dec. 5.

This is the first BIG EAST weekly award in Hankinson's Career.

Both the men's and women's track and field teams will travel to Kingston, R.I. to compete at the URI Sorlien Memorial Invitational on January 23.
