Adam Sutton Earns First Team Verizon Academic All-America Track And Cross Country Accolades
June 17, 2003 PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- It was announced on Tuesday, June 17 that senior Adam Sutton (Preston, England) earned 2002-03 Verizon Academic All-America Men's Cross Country and Track First Team accolades. Sutton, who graduated with a 3.61 cumulative GPA and a degree in management, was one of PC's top runners this year. He finished 27th at the NCAA Cross Country Championship in November and earned his second All-America honor in cross country. In addition to his strong performance at the NCAA Championship, Sutton won the BIG EAST Cross Country title and the New England Cross Country title. In May, Sutton was named Providence College Male Athlete of the Year. He is a three-time BIG EAST Academic All-Star and a three-time member of the United States Cross Country Coaches Association Men's NCAA Division 1 All-Academic Cross Country Team. For Sutton, it marks the second consecutive year that he earned Verizon Academic All-America honors. Last year, he was named to the Third Team.
