Men's Indoor Track Competes At New England Challenge

BOSTON, Mass. - The Providence College men's indoor track team competed at the New England Challenge, in Boston, Massachusetts on Friday, January 18.

Hamish Thorpe (Auckland, New Zealand) finished first in the 1,000-meter run, with a time of 2:24.97, and qualified for the BIG EAST and IC4A Championships. Dylan Wykes (Kingston, Ontario) placed second (4:12.83), and Dermot Galvin (Kilrush, Ireland) finished third (4:12.87) in the mile run. Both Wykes and Galvin also qualified for the BIG EAST and IC4A Championships with their times.

Patrick Moulton (Pelham, N.H.) qualified for BIG EASTs and IC4As in the 3,000-meter run, with a third-place finish (8:26.05). Tyler McCabe (Mystic, Conn.) qualified for the BIG EAST Championship in the 3,000 with a fourth-place finish (8:30.97).

The distance medley relay team, composed of Galvin, Wykes, Thorpe and Dave Wickman (Jefferson, Mass.) took first place in BIG EAST and IC4A qualifying time of 10:07.00.
