Men's & Women's Track Competes In 5,000 At Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Providence College men's and women's track team competed in the first day of competition at the IC4A and ECAC Outdoor Track Championships in Princeton, N.J. on March 19.

For the women's team, junior Rachel Hixson (Media, Pa.) and sophomore Claire Shearman (Portsmouth, N.Y.) ran the ECAC 5,000 meters. Hixson finished fifth in a time of 16:43 and Shearman placed 11th in a time of 17:13.

In the IC4A 5,000 meters, PC's Dermot Galvin (Kilrush, Ireland) finished seventh in a time of 14:36 and Ciaran Lynch (Limerick, Ireland) was 12th in a time of 14:46.
