PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Providence College men's track team had a strong first day of competition at the IC4A Outdoor Track Championship at Princeton, N.J. on May 17.

The Friars were led by junior Adam Sutton (Preston, England), who won the 5,000 meters in a time of 14:07. Sutton became the fifth Friar to win an IC4A 5,000 meter title and the first IC4A Outdoor 5,000 Championship by a PC runner since Michael O'Shea won in 1976. Sutton was followed by teammate senior Dermot Galvin (Kilrush, Ireland) and senior Paul Reilly (Loughrea, Ireland). Galvin placed second (14:12) and Reilly was fourth (14:15).
