PROVIDENCE COLLEGE MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TRACK AT PENN RELAYS, Philadelphia, Pa. - April 28, 2001

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The Providence College men's and women's track teams each ran one relay on the final day of the prestigious Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa. on Saturday, April 28.

Senior Keith Kelly (Drogheda, Ireland), junior Hamish Thorpe (Auckland, New Zealand), junior Paul Reilly (Loughrea, Ireland) and sophomore Adam Sutton (Preston, England) competed in the 4 x mile relay and placed eighth in a time of 16:31.07. The race was won by a team from Stanford in a time of 16:15.70.

Senior Joan Bohlke (Old Saybrook, Conn.), junior Kate Gall (Cumberland, Md.), sophomore Emer O'Shea (Limerick, Ireland) and junior Kathryn Casserly (Galway, Ireland) ran the 4 x 800 meter relay. The team finished 12th in a time of 9:04.49. The race was won by a team from Auburn in a time of 8:48.38.
