RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Providence College men's track team competed at the Raleigh Relays at NC State in Raleigh, N.C. on March 30-31.

Junior Hamish Thorpe (Auckland, New Zealand) was impressive in the 1,500 meters as he won the race in a time of 3:47.75 and qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track Championship.

The Friars were strong in the 5,000 meters as junior Paul Reilly (Loughrea, Ireland) placed second in a time of 14:07.09. He was followed by teammates sophomore Adam Sutton (Preston, England) and junior Dermot Galvin (Kilrush, Ireland). Sutton was fifth (14:10.51) in the 5,000 and Galvin placed 13th (14:29.64).
