Providence College Men's Indoor Track Competes At IC4A Championship

BOSTON, Mass. - The Providence College men's indoor track team competed at the the IC4A Indoor Track and Field Championship at the Reggie Lewis Center, in Boston, Massachusetts, on March 1-3.

Senior Hamish Thorpe (Auckland, New Zealand) earned the Friars' only individual title, with a first-place finish in the mile-run. Thorpe finished the event in a time of 4:04.86, which stands a a provisional qualifying time for the 2002 NCAA Championship. In the 3,000-meter run freshman Dylan Wykes (Kingston, Ontario) finished fourth, in a time of 8:15.91. In the 5,000-meter run freshman Patrick Moulton (Pelham, N.H.) placed 13th (14:41.86) and junior Tyler McCabe (Mystic, Conn.) earned a 19th-place finish (14:57.42).
