Men's Indoor Track Finishes Seventh at New England Championship

BOSTON, Mass. -- The Providence College men's indoor track team finished seventh of 29 teams at the New England Championship on March 1, 2003 in Boston, Mass.

In the mile run, the sophomore Dylan Wykes (Kingston, Ont.) finished third in a time of 4:08.89. Wykes qualified for the IC4A Championship.

Graduate student Paul Reilly (Loughrea, Ireland) finished second in the 3,000 meter run in a time of 8:13.67 while freshman Martin Fagan (Mullingar, Ireland) finished fifth in a time of 8:27.30. Both Reilly's and Fagan's times were IC4A qualifying times.

Senior Tim Curran (Northboro, Mass.) finished first in section 1 of the 5,000 meter run in time of 14:43.09 and sophomore Pat Moulton (Pelham, N.H.) finished second in section 2 of the 5,000 meter run in a time of 14:47.12. Also in section 2 was sophomore Pat Guidera of Clonmel, Ireland (3rd - 14:49.09) and junior Jamie Carmichael of Windsor, Vt. (4th - 14:51.95).

The Friars return to action on March 8-9 at the IC4A Championships in Boston, Mass.
