Men's Indoor Track Competes Versus Boston College/Boston University

BOSTON, Mass. -- The Providence College men's indoor track team competed against Boston College and Boston University on Saturday, February 8. Sophomore Liam Reale (Hospital, Ireland) won the 800-meter run in a time of 1:51.88 and freshman Martin Fagan (Mullingar, Ireland) captured the 3,000-meter run in a time of 8:20.70.
Fagan was among four PC runners, who finished in the top eight in the 3,000 meters and qualified for the IC4A's, which will be held on March 8-9 in Boston, Mass. Other runners finishing in the top eight were junior Jamie Carmichael of Windsor, Vt. (3rd - 8.22.65), sophomore Pat Guidera of Clonmel, Ireland (6th - 8:26.05) and senior Tim Curran of Northboro, Mass. (8th - 8:27.93)
Reale also qualified for the IC4A's in the 800-meter run with his first-place finish. In the 1,000-meter run, sophomore Tom Geer (Glastonbury, Conn.) was the top PC finisher (2nd - 2:31.13). In the mile run, senior Tyler McCabe (Mystic, Conn.) qualified for the IC4A's, finishing third in a time of 4:10.21. Freshman Richard Jones (Wellington, New Zealand) finished third in the 500 meters in a time of 1:06.74.
The Friars are back in action on Saturday, February 15 as they compete in the Fast-race Invitational at Boston University.
