Indoor Track Competes at Terrier Invitational

BOSTON, MASS. -

The Providence College men’s and women’s indoor track teams competed at the Boston University Terrier Invitational in Boston, Mass. on Friday, Jan. 25 and Saturday, Jan. 26. 

Junior Emily Sisson (Chesterfield, Mo.) ran a NCAA and World leading time in the 5000-meters on Friday night.  Sisson placed first in the 5000-meters with a time of 15:44.40.  Fellow classmate Laura Nagel (Napier, New Zealand) finished fifth with a time of 16:07.56.

Also of note, junior Jackie McCarthy (New Rochelle, N.Y.) finished third in the 1000-meters with a time of 2:55.02, and junior Elizabeth DeVivo (Riverside, Conn.) finished fifth in the same event with a time of 3:01.05.

On the men’s side, sophomore Shane Quinn (Waterford, Ireland) was the top performer at the Invitational.  Quinn finished third in the 3000-meters with a time of 8:01.49.

Both the men’s and women’s indoor teams will compete next on Saturday, Feb. 2 at the URI Invitational in Kingston, R.I.
