KINGSTON, R.I. -- The Providence College women's swimming and diving team won the women's side of the Harold Anderson Invitational held at the University of Rhode Island December 1 and 2, totalling 354 points and edging out Holy Cross for the win. The PC men's swimming team finished second on the men's side with 265 points.

The men's team's second-place finish was sparked by individual event wins from junior Keith Chobot (Randolph, N.J.) and sophomore Mike Bien (N. Reading, Mass.). Bien won the 50 yard freestyle in a time of 22.27. He also finished second in the 100 yard freestyle (50.50) and helped the 200 free and 400 free relay teams to second-place finishes. Chobot won the 200 yard breaststroke in a time of 2:23.64.
