    PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College men's and women's swimming teams competed against Montclair State University at Taylor Natatorium on Saturday, November 11, 2006. Both teams were victorious as the men won 123-106 and the women won 138-76. There were several top finishes in men's competition. The men's 400 meter medley relay team, comprised of freshman Tim Reilly (Floral Park, N.Y.), sophomore Chris Ray (Basking Ridge, N.J.), sophomore Ryan Clark (Taunton, Mass.), and sophomore Justin Rich (Branford, Conn.) finished first in a time of 4:24.55. Freshman Michael Loftis (Branford, Conn.) had first place finishes in the 200 meter freestyle (2:00.90) and 400 meter freestyle (4:25.38), Tim Reilly had number one finishes in the 200 meter IM (2:17.12) and 200 meter backstroke (2:13.66), and Justin Rich placed first in the 100 meter freestyle, clocking in at 56.46. The 400 meter freestyle relay team, consisting of senior Tom McLoughlin (Leonardo, N.J.), Rich, freshman Matt Card (Bow, N.H.), and sophomore Nick Trilla (Belmont, Mass.) finished first in a time of 3:45.75. There were numerous top finishes on the women's side as well. The 400 meter medley relay team consisting of senior Carolyn Rider (Freehold, N.J.), senior Emily Corcoran (Haverhill, Mass.), freshman Julia Pandolfo (White Plains, N.Y.), and sophomore Christine Bonagura (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) placed first in a time of 4:46.81. Freshman Carrie Lamb (New Paltz, N.Y.) took firsts in the 800 meter freestyle (9:55.26) and the 200 meter backstroke (2:32.50) . Senior Annie Nemeth (Pittsburgh, Pa.) took first in the 200 meter freestyle in a time of 2:17.09. Senior Katelyn Flynn (Sinking Spring, Pa.) placed first in the 200 meter IM (2:32.67) and the 100 meter freestyle (1:04.31), and Julia Pandolfo finished first in the 200 meter butterfly (2:34.33). Christine Bonagura finished first in the 400 meter freestyle in a time of 4:51.49. With the win, the men's team improves their record to 3-3 and the women's team improves to 3-2. The Friars return to action on Tuesday, November 14 when they host Holy Cross. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
